Join the Arcadiana Editorial Team (5 volunteer roles)
Another way to get involved with Arcadiana, the blog of the European Association for the Study of Literature, Culture and the Environment (EASLCE), is by joining our volunteer editorial team.
We are currently opening five new positions to expand our activities and reach:
- 3 Blog Editors
- 2 Social Media Editors (Instagram and X/Twitter)
Blog Editors (3 positions)
Blog Editors help shape the direction of Arcadiana and ensure the publication of engaging, accessible, and diverse content in the environmental humanities.
Main responsibilities:
- Commission blog posts (via themed calls or direct invitations)
- Liaise with authors, departments, and networks to expand the blog’s reach
- Assess pitches and select pieces for publication
- Copy-edit and proofread submissions for clarity and style
- Prepare and publish posts on WordPress
- Coordinate with EASLCE officers and event organisers to promote activities
Profile:
We welcome master students, PhD students, ECRs, and independent researchers interested in promoting the environmental humanities beyond academia.
Previous editorial experience, a good eye for detail, and a collaborative attitude are appreciated but not required.
Knowledge of WordPress and other languages beyond English is a plus.
Social Media Editors (2 positions)
Social Media Editors manage Arcadiana’s Instagram and X/Twitter accounts to promote new posts, calls, and events.
Main responsibilities:
- Draft and schedule social media posts to promote blog content and EASLCE activities
- Coordinate with the editorial team to highlight new work
- Support the visibility and outreach of Arcadiana within the wider environmental humanities community
Profile:
Applicants should enjoy communication and outreach, write clear and engaging posts, and have basic familiarity with social media platforms.
No design or technical skills are required — creativity and consistency are key.
