M. Markwick’s works come after an invitation to an artist-in-residence program at the SilvrettAtelier Montafon in the Austrian Alps last summer. The exhibition will have eight works on display – some of which can already be seen on Michael’s website – and one piece will be added to the collection of the Vorarlberg Museum in Bregenz. Lichenscape is the largest work (150 x 180 cm (59 1/16 in x 70 7/8 in) and was painted using acrylic, sand, fabric, paper, sawdust, and jute. Other artists’ contributions to the exhibition will include additional paintings, sculptures, videos, drawings, and performance art.
