This book explores the interplay between feminist environmental humanities and feminist speculative fiction, intervening in debates around the Anthropocene by foregrounding the need to decolonise the imagination. Informed by intersectionality and decolonial feminism, it examines dystopian and post-apocalyptic narratives that address the patriarchal domination of nature in its intersections with other forms of injustice. Through the analysis of a range of Anglophone authors—including Alexis Wright, Nnedi Okorafor, N. K. Jemisin, Cherie Dimaline, Vandana Singh, and Jesmyn Ward—the study highlights how contemporary fiction engages the climate crisis as a site where questions of power, inequality, and environmental justice converge.
